NON-ACADEMIC CLASSES/WORKSHOPS

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center regularly hosts classes and workshops on a number of small business topics for UNI students, faculty, staff and recent graduates (1 year or less). (Sorry, non-UNI-affiliated businesses will need to contact our partner, the UNI Regional Business Center at 319-236-8123 for their small business classes.) Below please find the listing for upcoming classes. To register for these classes, simply call our office at (319) 273-JPEC or e-mail us Registration is required to attend. Handouts from the presentations are available by calling the JPEC, emailing us, or by checking the Small Business Information Handouts page to see if an on-line version exists.

Tuesday, January 27 3:30-5:30 p.m., BCS 30 - How to Start a Business I - Learn the basics of starting a small business including business structure, taxes, and resources.
Thursday, January 29 3:30-5:30 p.m., BCS 30 - How to Start a Business II - Format, content, and strategies for an effective business plan are covered. Content from Workshop I required.
Monday, February 16, 3-5 p.m., BCS 30 - How to Start a Business I - Learn the basics of starting a small business including business structure, taxes, and resources.
Wednesday, February 18, 3-5 p.m., BCS 30 - How to Start a Business II - Format, content, and strategies for an effective business plan are covered. Content from Workshop I required.
Thursday, April 9 3:30-5:30 p.m., BCS 30 - Credit and Identity Theft

We will not be offering Marketing for the Small Business, or Basic Bookkeeping this semester.

All classes are free to UNI students, faculty, and staff unless otherwise noted. The series is supported and sponsored by the UNI John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.

The University of Northern Iowa has several academic classes offered each semester in entrepreneurship. Some entrepreneurship classes are part of the Certificate programs and some are not.
