Creating a Culture for Entrepreneurship at UNI!

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, in conjunction with UNIBusiness, is pleased to present MKTG 2186 Studies in Entrepreneurial Ventures: Taiwan for business and non-business majors. The 2012 program is May 12-20 in Taipei City, Taiwan. This program is an intensive nine-day study of entrepreneurship, small business, culture, history, language, and politics. Eight hours of pre-trip preparation will be required also.

For the aspiring entrepreneur, international experience is essential. Asian markets and partners are necessary for many U.S. businesses. This short, study-abroad program will provide the student entrepreneur with education in and exposure to Taiwanese and Chinese business practices and culture. The program will be held on the main campus of National Chengchi University in the city of Taipei. Students will explore corporations and small businesses, learn about the dynamic night markets, and visit historical, cultural, and political sites.

Eight UNI students will be selected through an application, essay, and interview process to participate in the course. Once selected, the student must guarantee commitment. The UNI JPEC and UNIBusiness pay each UNI student's airfare. The student is responsible for tuition, fees, passport, insurance, lodging, food, and other fees. The maximum anticipated cost for this is $1,600. Students who will be graduating in May of 2012 are not eligible. An essay and interview are required for consideration to be selected.
